About the finish

What SMP is.

SMP is a polyester paint modified with silicone. It's baked onto the steel at the coil mill, over a primer and a Galvalume-coated core, before we ever roll a panel. The silicone helps the finish hold its color and resist chalking. That's why SMP is the standard finish on residential and ag metal roofs.
