40-Year Limited Lifetime Paint Warranty
Covers the painted finish on our roofing panels — the part you look at for the life of the roof.
- 40 years against peeling, flaking or loss of adhesion
- 30 years against color change and chalking beyond set limits
- Extends to the original purchaser
What are the fade and chalk limits?
The 30-year color and chalk coverage uses measured industry standards, not eyeballing:
- Color change: no more than 5 Delta E (Hunter units, ASTM D2244) on vertical panels, 7 Delta E on roof panels.
- Chalking: no worse than rating 8 on vertical panels, rating 6 on roof panels (ASTM D4214, Method A).
What doesn't the paint warranty cover?
It's a paint warranty, not a corrosion warranty. Slight crazing on roll-formed edges and break bends is standard and excluded, as are damage from abuse, non-uniform weathering under non-uniform exposure, and substrate (steel) failure. Certain bright, saturated custom colors carry reduced coverage — we tell you in writing at color-matching time if that applies.
Is the paint warranty transferable?
The warranty extends to the original purchaser and the original structure. It is not transferable or assignable.
Weather Tight Warranty
Covers leaks on a roof installed by our crews or by a certified Michigan Metal Roofing contractor.

How does the Weather Tight warranty work?
We warrant that the installer's workmanship will be adequate to prevent leaks for the registered term, from the date the installation is completed. It covers labor and materials we supplied, or our materials installed by a certified Michigan Metal Roofing contractor — in that case the contractor is liable for the first two years. The remedy is repair of the roof; repairs carry the remaining balance of the original term.
What do I have to do to keep it valid?
- Register the warranty within 30 days of roof completion — an unregistered warranty is void.
- Report any leak in writing within 30 days of discovering it.
Is the Weather Tight warranty transferable?
Issued for the sole benefit of the original purchaser; not transferable or assignable. Valid once signed by Michigan Metal Roofing.

15-Year Weather Tight
Snap-Lock and Mechanical Seam systems. $0.15 / sq ft.
20-Year Weather Tight
Mechanical Seam system. $0.25 / sq ft.
In the Weather Tight warranty document the systems appear under their line names — Ultra-Pro (Classic Rib), Snap-Lock, and Platinum Pro (Mechanical Seam).
